Hepatocellular carcinoma

Authors

Abstract

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the primary hepatic neoplasm plus frequent. It is the sixth most common tumor in the world. The incidence of hepatocarcinoma varies widely throughout the world geography. Rates of 2 to 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per year have been described, in correlation with the epidemiology of their risk factors and the distribution of the various viral genotypes. The high complexity of this neoplasia and the pathologies with which it has been intimately related make a multidisciplinary approach necessary for its management, involving multiple medical and surgical specialties. The case of an 8-year-old patient with a diagnosis of stage IV hepatocellular carcinoma with a complete response to treatment is presented.
